How CarerNest works
A gentler way to find the right care
We replace spreadsheets, classifieds, and anxious phone calls with one trustworthy place to find, vet, and book carers.
Search by need
Filter by care type, location, language, schedule, and budget. Every carer has a verified profile.
Message and meet
Send your questions and arrange an intro call or visit before committing to anything.
Book with confidence
Choose dates and hours. Payment is held in trust until your first visit is complete.
Build a relationship
Re-book favourites, leave thoughtful reviews, and adjust routines whenever life changes.
Trust & safety
We do the homework, so you don’t have to.
The care sector has a trust problem. CarerNest exists to fix it. We verify, we insure, and we’re there if something goes wrong.
- National background checks (DBS/ACIC/NDIS worker screening)
- Identity verification & proof of insurance
- Verified reviews tied to real bookings
- 24/7 trust & safety team on call
The CarerNest promise
“If your first visit with a CarerNest carer isn’t right, tell us within 48 hours and we refund the booking in full. We will then re-match you with a better fit, on us.”

Common questions
How are carers vetted?+
Every carer is identity-verified and background-checked through our partner network. We collect references, qualifications, and proof of public liability insurance. Our team conducts a one-to-one onboarding interview at sign-up.
When do I pay?+
You are charged only after the carer confirms your booking request. We hold your payment in a secure escrow until the visit is complete and you mark it as such.
Can I cancel?+
Yes — free of charge up to 24 hours before the visit. After that, a small cancellation fee may apply to compensate the carer for their time.
What if it isn't a good fit?+
Tell us within 48 hours of your first visit and we will refund the booking in full. We will also use what we learned to find a better match.
Is there a minimum commitment?+
No. Most families book a single first visit, then decide. Many go on to weekly, fortnightly, or live-in arrangements.
Do carers provide medical care?+
Some do — depending on their qualifications (e.g. registered nurses). CarerNest profiles clearly list clinical capabilities. We do not replace your GP or specialist team.
